• A new hospital to serve Hadley Wood

    A team of local, specialist consultants are planning to create a new private hospital for the community in North London. Hadley Wood Hospital is due to open in the second half of 2014 and will be owned and managed by doctors.

The Medical Services

It will offer a wide range of medical services including general medicine, surgery, an urgent care centre, radiology, dermatology and oral and maxillofacial surgery endoscopy. Cancer screening and treatment will be at the forefront of the planned services.

The hospital will treat both private and NHS patients, referred by GPs in the area, offering high quality affordable healthcare delivered by consultants. It will provide an additional, local resource for the community as well as cancer treatment for the wider North London area. The team will also provide specialist services for women’s and men’s health issues and will also treat children.


The Consultants

Two North London consultants are heading up the team creating Hadley Wood Hospital. Other consultants will join them when the hospital opens in 2014. Hadley Wood Hospital will also provide employment opportunities in the area.


Dr Howard Stevens, MA (Oxon), MBBS, FRCP, PhD. (London)

Dr Howard Stevens is a General Dermatologist, Skin Cancer Specialist and a trained Mohs Surgeon. He is the Skin Cancer Lead and Chair at Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Trust, Barnet General Hospital, where he has been a Consultant Dermatologist since 1998. In that time he has helped build the Trust into the largest skin cancer treatment centre in London. Its Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) for skin cancer is London’s largest MDT and the eighth largest in the country.

Practicing both in NHS and private fields, Dr Stevens’ ethos is excellence in clinical care combined with a friendly and empathic patient approach.

Mr. Kaveh Shakib, PhD, FRCS(OMFS), MRCS(Eng), FDSRCS(Eng), MBBS, BDS

Mr Shakib is a highly experienced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He covers all aspects of diseases affecting the mouth, jaws, face and neck. His main areas main areas of interest are skin malignancy, salivary gland surgery, facial trauma and facial micro-vascular reconstruction. Mr Shakib has treated more than 1,000 patients with dental implants, often requiring bone augmentation. He is on the specialist registers with the General Medical Council (GMC) and the General Dental Council (GDC) as an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon.
